One address for every Northing app. It is read by the person who wrote the app, not a queue — so a good bug report tends to turn into a fix rather than a ticket number.
What to expect
Northing is an independent studio, so replies come from one person rather than a support rota. Most messages are answered within two working days. If something is badly broken, say so in the subject line and it will be looked at sooner.
Feature requests are genuinely welcome. A fair amount of what these apps do exists because somebody wrote in to point out that the alternative was annoying.
Reporting a bug
Please do not send passwords or anything you would not want in an ordinary email. Nothing about diagnosing a Northing bug requires them. If a screenshot would show personal filenames or private content, crop it or describe it instead.
Per app
Do I need an account? No. Bellrock works fully without one, and that is the default. An account only buys continuity — your record following you to a new phone.
My notifications are late or missing. Alerts about watched subjects are local notifications, and iOS decides when to wake the app in the background — sometimes much later than the app asks. Check that notifications are allowed in Settings. Bellrock deliberately never promises an interval it cannot keep.
How do I delete my account? Profile → Delete account. It removes the account and erases the stored profile behind it. Erase my record clears what is held on the device only.
The numbers look wrong. Every figure in Bellrock is a count it actually collected, with its source and age shown. If a card disagrees with reality, that is worth an email — include the card.
Permission prompts. Sweep needs Full Disk Access for a complete scan, and some of Isle's integrations need Accessibility or Automation. These are granted in System Settings → Privacy & Security, and each app explains what it is asking for and why before it asks.
Cellar needs Homebrew. It is an interface to Homebrew rather than a replacement for it, so Homebrew must be installed. What Cellar can offer depends on the taps you have configured.
Morph and unusual formats. Most conversions are native. WebM, MKV and AVI depend on FFmpeg being available — if one of those fails, that is usually why.
Privacy and your data
Requests for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, go to the same address and are handled by the same person. The privacy page sets out what each app collects — for most of them the answer is nothing, because they never leave your machine.
Write in. Include the app and what you were doing, and you will get a real answer.
