Your clipboard, app switches, and a capture of the frontmost window when you switch to it. Never continuous video recording — that is an explicit non-goal, not a feature waiting to be added.

A Spotlight-style overlay. Text, category and time are read out of each capture by the on-device language model and matched with contextual embeddings, so you can ask for the thing you half-remember rather than the filename you never knew.

Recall ships with no network entitlement at all. That is a property of the signed application that anyone can verify — an app that cannot open a socket cannot upload your screen.

Most privacy claims are a paragraph in a document you have to trust. This one is an entitlement — or rather, the absence of one. You can inspect the signed app yourself and confirm it has no way to reach the network at all.
